What is a car subscription?
A car subscription gives you access to a vehicle for a simple weekly payment. Unlike traditional finance or leasing, there are no long-term loan contracts. Your subscription includes registration, comprehensive insurance and standard servicing — all bundled into one payment.
What’s included in the weekly payment?
Your subscription covers:
• Registration
• Comprehensive insurance
• Standard servicing & maintenance
• Roadside assistance
You only need to cover fuel and tolls.
Is there a minimum term?
CarMaxx offers flexible terms with no long-term finance commitment. Minimum subscription periods apply, but you are not locked into multi-year contracts like traditional car loans.
Is there a bond required?
Yes. A refundable security bond is required at the start of your subscription. The bond is returned at the end of your subscription, provided the vehicle is returned in acceptable condition and within agreed kilometre limits.
How many kilometres can I drive?
Each subscription includes a weekly kilometre allowance. Kilometres are calculated across your entire subscription period — meaning higher usage in one week can be balanced by lower usage in another.
Additional kilometres can be arranged if required.
Is insurance included?
Yes. Comprehensive insurance is included in your subscription. In the event of an at-fault accident, a standard excess applies as outlined in your agreement.
What happens if the vehicle needs servicing?
All scheduled servicing is included. We will coordinate servicing at an approved provider when required.
Is this the same as rent-to-own?
No. A car subscription is not finance or rent-to-own. You are subscribing to use the vehicle, not purchasing it.
